Why did you choose to attend UE?
The reason I chose UE was that it felt like home. I had a lot of family members who attended UE, so it felt like a family tradition to go. The biggest reason is I wanted to be known by my professors as a person and not as a number or a paycheck. The professors have made it easy to make connections with them and they make themselves approachable. UE also offered a large number of scholarships to make college affordable. So that way I didn’t have to constantly stress about money for school.
What activities or organizations have you been involved with at UE? How have these impacted your college career?
I am involved in the Admissions Ambassadors and the Orientation Leaders (OLs). I am lucky enough in both organizations to have a lead role. I appreciated both because they gave me the chance to meet a bunch of incoming students. The OLs have had the biggest impact on my life. They took a chance on me and opened their arms to welcome me as part of the OL family. The bond that we have is one that is like no other. I am truly blessed to be a part of such amazing organizations of the University.
How has your program shaped and prepared you for a future career?
Throughout my Exercise Science journey, I have had several chances to gain hands-on experience, which is absolutely amazing since I am a hands-on learner. The professors allow us to get all of the infield and hands-on activities that we can obtain.
Why do you recommend UE? What advice would you share with incoming students?
At UE I truly feel like there is a spot for everyone on campus, whether you want to get involved in Greek Life or organizations such as Student Activities Board or Orientation Leaders . We have a wide variety of clubs and organizations for students to take part in. On top of that, the professors make it a goal of theirs to learn names and make you want to succeed in not only academics but in life as well. One piece of advice I have for any incoming student would be to get involved in at least one club or organization. It doesn’t have to be a big thing, but that one club or organization could help you get adjusted to college life. Make your own choices, because whatever choice you make will be right because YOU made it. Be willing to try new things. You only have one college experience.
